Here’s your chance to pick a new team. It’s the All-MLB team.
Five Braves players are nominated for the inaugural squad, which opened its selection process Monday. Outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., second baseman Ozzie Albies, third baseman Josh Donaldson, first baseman Freddie Freeman and starting pitcher Michael Soroka were named as nominees at their respective positions.
Reliever Will Smith, recently signed by the Braves, also appears on the ballot as a member of his previous club, the San Francisco Giants.
Only four other teams have as many as five nominees: the Dodgers, Indians, Nationals and Yankees. If Smith is theoretically included as a Braves nominee, Atlanta is matched by just one other club -- the Twins, who also have six nominees. The Astros and Red Sox have the most with 10 and seven nominees, respectively.

The selection process for the 2019 All-MLB Team began Monday and runs through 5 p.m. ET on Dec. 3, with 50 percent of the vote coming from fans and 50 percent coming from a panel of experts.
You can vote right here, and may do so once every 24 hours between now and when voting ends next Tuesday. The inaugural All-MLB Team will be announced on Dec. 10 at baseball’s annual Winter Meetings in San Diego.
There will be a first and second All-MLB team, and voters are asked only to consider performance during the regular season when casting their ballots. Each team will include one selection at each position (including designated hitter and three outfielders, regardless of specific outfield position), five starting pitchers and two relievers.

Acuna established himself as one of the game’s top performers in 2019. He recorded a slash line of .280/.365/.518 while amassing 41 home runs and 101 RBIs. That complemented his 37 stolen bases in 46 attempts.
Albies also ranks among the elite at his position, having slashed .295/.352/.500 in 2019 with 24 homers and 86 RBIs. Additionally, he stole 15 bases in 19 tries.
Donaldson had a .900 OPS to go with 37 home runs and 94 RBIs. Freeman slashed .295/.389/.549 with 38 homers and 121 RBIs. Soroka fashioned a 13-4 record with a 2.68 ERA in 29 starts.
Smith carved out a 6-0 record with a 2.76 ERA and 34 saves in 38 attempts for the Giants.
