Players of the Week: Lowe, Soto
The Rays’ Brandon Lowe and the Nationals’ Juan Soto have been named the MLB Players of the Week presented by Chevrolet.
Lowe hit .448 in seven games over the course of the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage. He hit four home runs -- in four straight games -- becoming the first Rays player with a home run streak that long since Evan Longoria in 2016.

He now has 12 barrels this season, tied for most in the Majors. In other words, he’s hitting the ball hard. This is his first Player of the Week Award.
Soto continued his hot start to the season, hitting .462 over the week with a 1.077 slugging percentage. He started the week off with a 463-foot homer on Monday, the longest of his career. Then, on Wednesday, he surpassed that personal record with a 466-foot home run.

“It’s awesome,” Nationals manager Dave Martinez said. “He deserved it. The guy had an unbelievable week. We always talk about Juan -- he’s just that kid that wants to get better every day. He means a lot to us and this lineup.”
Overall, he hit five home runs during the week and now has six on the season in 11 games. This is Soto’s first Player of the Week Award.
