Could Jays' pitching be a match for Braves' needs?
The Blue Jays are an American League seller. The Braves are a National League buyer. On the surface, the teams match up well in advance of this year’s Trade Deadline.

Atlanta general manager Alex Anthopoulos once held the same title in Toronto, and there’s been considerable speculation within the industry about whether the Blue Jays' current front office is eager to deal with him.
Well, we know this much: The teams are talking.
The Blue Jays and Braves have had recent trade dialogue, one source said Saturday, although it’s not clear if there’s any momentum in talks.
Marcus Stroman is one of the most coveted players on Toronto’s roster, and there’s a high probability that he will be dealt by Wednesday’s 4 p.m. ET Trade Deadline -- and possibly before his scheduled start Tuesday in Kansas City. The Braves, however, aren’t believed to be seriously pursuing Stroman at the moment.

Instead, Atlanta appears focused on adding a reliever. Toronto has two prominent right-handers to move: Closer Ken Giles and setup man Daniel Hudson.
The Braves were also believed to have had interest in Blue Jays infielder Eric Sogard, but he was dealt to the Rays on Sunday afternoon. Atlanta could still be in the market for a bat in light of infielder Dansby Swanson (right foot contusion) and outfielder Nick Markakis (fractured left wrist) landing on the injured list Saturday. Markakis is expected to be out until sometime in September, according to The Athletic’s David O’Brien.
