What to know about A's relocation to West Sacramento

The A’s search for a temporary home is over.

With their planned relocation to a new ballpark in Las Vegas not expected to be ready for play until January 2028, the A’s have reached an agreement with the city of West Sacramento to play its home games at Sutter Health Park from the 2025-27 seasons, with an option to extend their stay an extra season in ‘28.

Because Sutter Health Park, the current home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats, is a Minor League ballpark, the stadium will need to undergo renovations to bring its facilities up to Major League standards.

Now that the A’s have secured a home for the next three seasons, here is a look at what comes next in the process:

How will the A’s and River Cats, Triple-A affiliate for the San Francisco Giants, co-exist in the same ballpark?

MLB will work closely with both the A’s and River Cats to ensure schedules are constructed to meet both MLB and MiLB guidelines. The A’s and River Cats will have dedicated facility space to practice.

Sutter Health Park was constructed as a Minor League Stadium. Will it be modified for Major League Baseball?

Sutter Health Park just recently went through a multi-million-dollar facilities renovation that included upgrades to its clubhouses. The A’s will continue to modify the ballpark to meet MLB standards, including upgrading LED lighting and adding an additional clubhouse, among other items.

How does this impact ticket prices?

2025 ticket information will be available after the MLB schedule is released later this summer.

What can fans do now if they are interested in tickets? Can A’s Season Ticket Members renew for the 2025 season?

Current A’s Season Ticket Members will have an opportunity to renew and get first priority on seats. River Cats Season Ticket Members will have priority purchase access. Fans can visit SutterHealthPark.com/Athletics to place a seat deposit to secure priority purchase access or to sign up to be notified when tickets go on sale.

What does this mean for partners, sponsors and suite holders?

Partners, sponsors and suite holders will have the opportunity to expand and extend their partnerships at A’s games at Sutter Health Park.

Will A’s games be broadcast on TV and radio in the Bay Area?

NBC Sports California’s live A’s coverage will continue to be available in the same areas following their relocation to Sacramento, including in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose and Sacramento markets.
