A's finalize 25-man roster

The A's have placed Matt Olson on the 10-day injured list as he recovers from right hand surgery, the team announced Wednesday -- part of a series of moves to set its 25-man roster prior to Thursday's home opener.
Oakland also optioned right-hander Ryan Dull to Triple-A Nashville and placed right-hander Chris Bassitt on the 10-day injured list with a right lower leg contusion, after reassigning left-hander Jerry Blevins and infielder Cliff Pennington to Minor League camp on Tuesday night.
The A's were allowed to take 28 players with them to Tokyo for their two-game series against the Mariners last week and are now reducing it to the standard 25 as they prepare for Opening Day stateside. The A's host the Angels at 1:07 p.m. PT at Oakland Coliseum on Thursday.
Olson injured his hand on a foul tip last Thursday during the Japan series and underwent a successful right hamate excision procedure on Friday.
The A's haven't announced an official timetable for the the first baseman's return, but similar injuries have kept players out a month or longer.
In Olson's absence, Mark Canha and Jurickson Profar are expected to handle first base for Oakland.
