White Sox-Astros postponed Mon.; DH on Tues.

CHICAGO -- Monday’s series opener between the White Sox and Astros at Guaranteed Rate Field was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader on Tuesday.

The first pitch of Game 1 is set for 3:40 p.m. CT. The originally scheduled contest will begin approximately 30 to 40 minutes following the conclusion of the opener, but not sooner than 7:10 p.m.

Dylan Cease will start Game 1 for the White Sox, with Zack Greinke starting for the Astros. Cease will be making his seventh career start -- and his third start as part of a doubleheader, all of which have come in Game 1 of the twin bill. Greinke, who has a career 8-10 record with a 3.98 ERA against the White Sox, will be making his second start for Houston since being acquired from Arizona.

Iván Nova starts for the White Sox in the nightcap, while Gerrit Cole and his 226 strikeouts over 156 2/3 innings gets the call for the Astros. The White Sox and Nova beat Cole in Houston on May 22, when the two teams split a four-game series.

Fans with game tickets, parking coupons and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes to Tuesday night's originally scheduled game can attend both games with their ticket and parking pass. Gates will open at 2:40 p.m. and parking lots at 1:40 p.m.

Game tickets, parking coupons and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes for Monday’s postponed game cannot be used for Tuesday's doubleheader unless they are exchanged at the box office prior to entry. Fans can apply the value of those tickets, parking coupons and stadium club passes to any future regular-season White Sox home game.

All exchanges must be made at the Guaranteed Rate Field box office during regular business hours.
