Cabrera shouldn't miss time after tweaking elbow

NEW YORK -- Mets second baseman Asdrúbal Cabrera was removed from Tuesday night's 7-3 loss to the Phillies after aggravating his hyperextended left elbow.
Cabrera has been playing through the injury for weeks and tweaked it on Tuesday. The injury does not appear to be serious, and Cabrera is expected to play in Wednesday's series finale.
"He plays through everything, all the time," Mets manager Mickey Callaway said. "So it's been a couple of weeks that he's been battling it."
According to Callaway, Cabrera aggravated the elbow while swinging during his at-bat in the sixth inning. Earlier in the game, Cabrera seemed to be in pain after fielding a throw down to second base from catcher Devin Mesoraco to catch Nick Williams stealing in the fifth inning.
Cabrera jumped up after the play and went straight to the medical staff in the dugout and was brought back to the clubhouse for examination. He returned to second base in the sixth inning and took his at-bat in the bottom of the sixth, lining out to right field.
At the start of the seventh inning, Cabrera was replaced in the lineup by Dominic Smith, and Wilmer Flores moved over to play second base.
