ANAHEIM -- Angels third baseman and leadoff hitter Yunel Escobar is day to day with a sore right shoulder after exiting Tuesday's 8-1 win over the A's after the top of the fourth inning.
"He hurt it on a swing," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "We'll see how it feels the next couple days."
Escobar grounded to second in his first at-bat and grounded to short in the third inning. Cliff Pennington pinch-hit for Escobar during the Angels' seven-run fourth inning. Kaleb Cowart shifted from second base to third in the top of the fifth.
In his first season with the Angels, Escobar is hitting .308 with 28 doubles and 68 runs scored in 130 games. He previously missed time this year with a concussion suffered when he fouled a pitch off his face.
