Angels non-tender 5 pitchers at deadline
The Angels announced Wednesday that they did not offer contracts to five pitchers, making them free agents: right-handers Justin Anderson, Matt Andriese, Keynan Middleton and Hansel Robles, and left-hander Hoby Milner.
In 2019, Robles had 23 saves, a 2.48 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP in 71 games for the Angels, but he slumped to just one save, a 10.26 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP in 18 games this year. He was eligible for salary arbitration for the third straight offseason.

Anderson, who pitched in 111 games for the Angels in 2018-19, underwent Tommy John surgery in July.
Andriese, acquired nearly a year ago from the D-backs for right-hander Jeremy Beasley, pitched in 16 games for the Angels and was 2-4 with two saves, a 4.50 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. He is also third-year arbitration eligible.
Middleton had a 5.25 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in 13 games this year and was sent to the alternate training site at the end of August. He did not pitch the rest of the season.
Milner had an 8.10 ERA in 19 games this year.
The Angels have seven players eligible for arbitration, including pitcher/DH Shohei Ohtani and catcher Max Stassi. The others are pitchers Dylan Bundy, Andrew Heaney, Felix Peña, Noé Ramirez and Mike Mayers.
