Trout joins elite company with 150th homer

ANAHEIM -- Angels center fielder Mike Trout continued his quick rise through the historical ranks Saturday, launching his 150th career home run in the first inning of a 4-2 loss to the Astros.
He hit a 90 mph fastball from Astros lefty Dallas Keuchel a projected 401 feet away to right-center field, according to Statcast™. The blast tied the game at 1-1 in the first inning.
"I was just looking for a fastball, something I could hit. I got that pitch I could get," Trout said.
Trout became one of eight players all-time to record 150 career home runs and 500 career runs scored before his age-25 season, joining Mel Ott, Mickey Mantle, Alex Rodriguez, Jimmie Foxx, Ken Griffey Jr., Frank Robinson and Albert Pujols. Trout is one of just 10 players all-time to record 500 career runs scored before his age-25 season.
"It's pretty cool," Trout said of the accomplishment. "Obviously, I'm not trying to hit homers. Just putting good swings on the ball and see what happens."

Pujols followed Trout with a homer of his own to left-center field, giving him 571 home runs for his career and putting him two behind Harmon Killebrew for 11th all-time.

This marked the 27th game in which Trout and Pujols have both homered. Garret Anderson and Tim Salmon are the only Angels duo to do it in more games (28).
