Angels-Yankees rained out Tuesday; twin bill Wednesday

NEW YORK -- The Angels’ scheduled game against the Yankees on Tuesday was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader that begins on Wednesday at 1:05 p.m. PT/4:05 ET at Yankee Stadium, both clubs announced.

Right-hander Davis Daniel was scheduled to start Monday but will now be pushed back a day to start Game 1 of the twin bill. Right-hander Carson Fulmer will remain on his day to start the second game on Tuesday.

Daniel, who has a 4.91 ERA in four starts this year, is coming off a strong outing, allowing one run over five innings against the Rockies on Wednesday. Fulmer, who has a 3.69 ERA in 63 1/3 innings this year, limited Colorado to two runs over six innings on Thursday. The Angels will also get a 27th man for the doubleheader.

The Angels never posted a lineup on Tuesday, as the game was postponed more than three hours before the scheduled first pitch. But outfielder Taylor Ward was placed on the paternity list while third baseman Anthony Rendon was reinstated from the injured list. Ward can be away from the club for a maximum of three days, while Rendon spent the minimum 10 days on the IL after missing time with low back stiffness.

Tickets for Tuesday's game will not be valid for the Wednesday, Aug. 7, single-admission doubleheader. On Wednesday, all Yankee Stadium gates will open to fans with valid tickets at 12:00 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET, at which time distribution will begin for the Aug. 7 scheduled promotional item (Yankees Bucket Hat presented by Benjamin Moore to the 1st 18,000 Guests in attendance).

Fans with paid tickets for Tuesday's game may exchange them for tickets to a similar regular season game at Yankee Stadium (subject to availability) as described in the Yankees’ rain check policy, which may be found at www.yankees.com/raincheck.

Both Angels games will be broadcast by Bally Sports West. But on the Yankees’ side, Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader will be broadcast by the YES Network and Game 2 will be broadcast by Amazon Prime Video.

Complimentary (COMP) tickets and tickets obtained via the Commissioner’s Initiative for Kids for tonight’s game (Tuesday, August 6) are not valid for any future games. COMP tickets or equivalent tickets bear no cash value and do not have any additional benefits that may be offered to ticket(s) with a dollar value.
