Red Sox left fielder Andrew Benintendi slashed the shortest home run of the season Saturday, as he sliced an 80.6-mph slider from Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia 310 feet past Pesky's Pole in the second inning of Boston's 9-5 win.
The play was originally ruled a double, but following a crew chief review, the call on the field was overturned. Replays showed the ball just barely cleared the right-field wall, bounced before the front row of seats and ricocheted back onto the field.

According to Statcast, the expected batting average of Benintendi's dinger was .010 -- all 310 feet of it. Prior to Saturday, the shortest homer of the season belonged to teammate Christian Vazquez, who hit a 311-foot homer on May 18.
