Yanks receive int'l cash from Mariners for Warren

The Yankees on Monday announced that they have acquired international signing bonus pool money from the Mariners in exchange for right-handed pitcher Adam Warren. The amount headed to New York is $1.25 million, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. The club has not confirmed the value.
Warren, 30, appeared in 24 games for the Yankees in 2018, posting an 0-1 record with a 2.70 ERA (30 innings, 26 hits, nine earned runs, 12 walks, 37 strikeouts and three home runs). Originally selected by the Yankees in the fourth round of the 2009 Draft, the University of North Carolina graduate compiled a 20-20 record with six saves and a 3.18 ERA (407 innings, 354 hits, 144 earned runs, 132 walks, 361 strikeouts and 37 home runs) in 246 games (20 starts) over seven years and two stints with the club (2012-15, 2016-18).
Warren was traded to the Chicago Cubs with a player to be named (Brendan Ryan) on Dec. 8, 2015, for second baseman Starlin Castro. After going 3-2 with a 5.91 ERA (35 innings, 31 hits, 23 earned runs, 19 walks, 27 strikeouts and one home run) in 29 games (one start) for the Cubs, Warren was traded back to the Yankees on July 25, 2016, along with second baseman Gleyber Torres and outfielders Billy McKinney and Rashad Crawford in exchange for left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman.
With this trade, their third this week, the Yankees have added $3.75 million in international bonus pool money, according to Feinsand.
