ST. LOUIS -- Adam Frazier is a finalist to be the National League’s starter at second base in the 2021 All-Star Game taking place on Tuesday, July 13.

Frazier finished in second place in Phase 1 of All-Star fan voting, trailing Atlanta’s Ozzie Albies and leading third-place vote-getter Gavin Lux of the Dodgers. Now, the balloting moves to Phase 2; you can vote NOW up until Thursday at 2 p.m. ET.

Entering Sunday’s action, Frazier was second in the Majors in hits (95) and doubles (24), and he ranked tied for sixth in batting average (.325). He used that hit tool to power an .864 OPS, which was 48 points higher than Albies (.816) ahead of Sunday’s slate.

Frazier is also in the positive in outs above average at 1, but he has no shortage of great plays in the field. One of his best came on May 1 against the Cardinals, where Frazier ranged to the shortstop hole from second base to make a Derek Jeter-esque throw to first base for an incredible out.

If Frazier is selected to the All-Star Game -- whether as a starter through fan voting in Phase 2 or a reserve through player balloting and selections made by the Commissioner’s Office -- it would be his first appearance. The starters will be revealed on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, while pitchers and reserves will be revealed on Sunday, July 4 at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

If you know Frazier, you know he’s very good at tuning out the outside noise and focusing on the game at hand. But he admitted that an All-Star selection would be a career accolade he’d appreciate.

“It would mean a lot. I've been dreaming of that since I was a kid,” Frazier said. “Getting to the Major Leagues, and then being an All-Star, so, it'd be pretty awesome if I am able to do that.”
