Judge seen wearing new uniform -- but not the team you'd think
Which uniform Aaron Judge will be wearing next year has been the talk of the offseason since he became a free agent. Will he be back in the Yankees pinstripes? Sporting the Giants' orange and black? Could he have -- gasp -- Red Sox written across his chest?
On Monday night, as the baseball world was focused on the Winter Meetings in San Diego, we got a preview of what Judge looks like in a non-Yankees jersey, although we don't think fans in the Bronx should be worried about him signing with this team: The AL MVP was rocking a Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey while taking in their game vs. the New Orleans Saints.
Judge was wearing Mike Evans' No. 13, returning the favor after the wide receiver was seen sporting Judge's No. 99 after the slugger broke the AL home run record this season. The Yankees' Spring Training home, George M. Steinbrenner Field, is next door to the Bucs' Raymond James Stadium.
Judge also found time to speak with another MVP, Bucs QB Tom Brady. Did Brady, who was once drafted by the Expos, pitch Judge on signing with the Rays and joining him in Florida? Maybe he let him know what a thrill it is to celebrate a championship parade in Boston. Or, more likely, they just exchanged pleasantries.
Either way, we still don't know which uniform Judge will be wearing next season. But maybe we'll find out soon.
