MINNEAPOLIS -- A's reliever Fernando Rodriguez has been shut down from throwing after an MRI revealed a rotator cuff strain in his right shoulder.
There's no timetable for his return, A's manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday.
Rodriguez joined lefty Sean Doolittle on the disabled list Monday after departing his Sunday appearance against the Pirates with shoulder discomfort.
The right-hander had a 4.20 ERA across 40 2/3 innings in 34 games this season.
