LIVE: Watch the Yankees host the A's for FREE on MLB.TV
Yankees sluggers Juan Soto and Aaron Judge take center stage in a Monday matinee in the Bronx -- and you can watch for FREE on MLB.TV.
Soto, Judge and the first-place Yanks take on the Athletics at Yankee Stadium in MLB.TV’s Free Game of the Day presented by WM.
A former Yankee opposes them, with left-hander JP Sears set to take the mound for the A’s. Sears went 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA in seven games for New York in 2022 before being sent to Oakland as part of the Frankie Montas trade. Sears owns a 4.35 ERA in four starts for the A’s this season.
Monday’s game will feature two lefties on the mound, with southpaw Carlos Rodón drawing the start for the Yankees. The two-time All-Star has a 3.66 ERA in 2024 with 18 strikeouts in 19 2/3 innings. He’ll face a lineup that is expected to feature speedster Esteury Ruiz, who set an American League rookie record with 67 stolen bases in 2023 and is off to a strong start this season (.375 BA, 2 HR, 1.327 OPS).

The A's will face a tough task against Rodón and a Yankees pitching staff that boasts a 2.99 ERA on the season, good for third in MLB. New York's bullpen, highlighted by Victor González, Ian Hamilton and closer Clay Holmes, has a 2.96 ERA (sixth-best in the Majors). The A's bullpen has been just as impressive, though, ranking just behind the Yankees with a 2.99 ERA.
Prepare for late-inning firepower out of the visitors' bullpen: Monday’s clash could feature Soto, Judge or Giancarlo Stanton facing A’s reliever Mason Miller, who is off to an electric start to 2024. Miller has thrown harder than any pitcher in MLB this year, averaging 100.6 mph on his fastball and reaching 103.7 on the radar gun. Miller owns a 2.00 ERA with 17 strikeouts in just nine innings this season.
