Trea Turner’s Walk-Off Home Run

March 31 vs. New York Mets

Every success story starts somewhere, and that of the 2019 Nationals began on a chilly afternoon in Southeast DC. The Nats dropped two straight games to open the year, and were locked in an intense game on the first getaway day of the season.

The Mets had scored three late runs to match the Nats heading into the home half of the ninth inning. Trea Turner stepped to the dish having already hammered his first homer of the season back in the third off of starter Zack Wheeler. This time, he stared down lefty reliever Justin Wilson and lined his second homer of the afternoon into the left field seats.

Put a Gatorade-soaked #CurlyW in the books.
