2022 All-Star Game jerseys unveiled
Nike released its 2022 MLB All-Star Game jersey designs Monday morning, and just as with the popular City Connect uniforms that have come out the past couple of seasons, the threads for the 92nd Midsummer Classic will pay tribute to the host city in special ways to highlight features unique to the locale.
This year, that is none other than Hollywood, and the All-Star uniforms more than look the part for their big premiere at Dodger Stadium on July 19.
The National League, as the home team, will be sporting white jerseys with the name of each player’s team lettered in gold on the front, with the script designed just like the player’s home uniform script during the regular season.
The American League, as the visiting team, will also have the same style of gold script on the front of the jersey, but the jersey itself will be dark gray.
Both teams’ jerseys will have a star patch on the left sleeve to celebrate the player’s selection as an All-Star, and an All-Star Game logo patch on the right sleeve. The player’s last name and number will also be in gold on the back of the jersey.
According to Nike, the jerseys are “inspired by the fame and fortune of the city of angels,” and “the club-specific chest graphic is drawn from the gold sheen of Hollywood award shows.”
