The Rockies and Carlos Gonzalez couldn't quite stand up to Philadelphia's powerful offense and formidable pitching staff in this series that featured three one-run contests in four games.
Gonzalez had a breakout postseason, tallying 10 hits in 17 at-bats with two doubles, five runs and one homer. Ryan Howard, Chase Utley and Shane Victorino each had six hits for Philly, and the trio combined for four doubles, two homers and eight RBIs in the series.
Games 2, 3 and 4 all came down to one run and were decided in the eighth or ninth inning. In Game 4, a three-run Philadelphia ninth in Colorado clinched it for the Phillies.
Cliff Lee made two starts for the Phillies, allowing two earned runs in 16 1/3 innings.
Path to the NLDS: Philadelphia (93-69) won the NL East by six games; Colorado (92-70) finished second in the NL West and won the Wild Card
