Starting pitchers Brandon Webb and Livan Hernandez led the D-backs in this sweep, each holding the Cubs to one earned run in Game 1 and Game 3, respectively. The D-backs bats turned out in an 8-4 Game 2 victory.
Stephen Drew had a series-high seven hits in three games, with a double, a triple, two homers, four RBIs and four runs. Chris Young also homered twice.
Geovany Soto and Daryle Ward each drove in two for the Cubs, who also got six strong innings (eight strikeouts) from Carlos Zambrano in Game 1.
Path to the NLDS: Arizona (90-72) won the NL West by a half-game; Chicago (85-77) won the NL Central by two games
