The Red Sox went out to Anaheim and won Games 1 and 2 by a combined 11 runs before heading back to Fenway Park and wrapping up the series in three games. Boston starters Curt Schilling, Pedro Martinez and Derek Lowe all got victories.

Johnny Damon paced the Boston offense with seven hits and four runs, while David Ortiz drove in four while batting 6-for-11 with five walks, and Manny Ramirez drove in seven.

One of Vladimir Guerrero's two hits in the series was a Game 3 grand slam, and the Angels outfielder finished with six RBIs in three games.
