The Big Red Machine extended its dynasty with another dominant performance in the '76 NLCS, needing just three games to take care of the Phillies.
It was a three-run ninth inning that sealed the comeback victory for Cincinnati in Game 3, with George Foster and Johnny Bench hitting back-to-back homers to lead off the inning and Ken Griffey singling in the winning run with one out.
Jay Johnstone led the Phillies with seven hits (he was 7-for-9 in three games), while Foster and Tony Perez each drove in four on the series for Cincinnati.

Path to the NLCS: The Phillies (101-61) won the NL East by nine games. The Reds (102-60) won the NL West by 10 games.
