Baseball fans have become quite familiar with Yu Darvish's filthy repertoire throughout his career, and he brought his bag of tricks to Game 3 of the NLDS presented by T-Mobile. It was his Dodgers playoff debut, after all -- he had to show them that he meant business with his team looking to sweep the D-backs.
Darvish surrendered just one run on two hits with no walks during his five innings of work, striking out seven D-backs in a strong effort. Thanks to his efforts, the Dodgers finished off the sweep with a 3-1 victory.
Perhaps appropriately, Darvish saved his nastiest pitch of the night for the D-backs' best hitter, Paul Goldschmidt.
That's just a hellacious slider that Goldschmidt could only wave over.
For most players, it might be their best pitch of the year, but it's just another on the long ledger for Darvish.
The Dodgers' next challenge comes up in NLCS Game 1 against either the Nationals or Cubs: Saturday, time TBD on TBS.
