Yordan Alvarez's monstrous opposite-field homer was too much for this kid to handle

The Astros were a juggernaut long before they called up 21-year-old prospect Yordan Alvarez last Sunday. With a comfy lead in the AL West, they were probably going to be fine regardless, even with some of their All-Stars on the mend.

Then, Alvarez did something that no Astros player had ever done before when he homered in each of his first two games. That's quite a way to immediately endear yourself to a fanbase.

Alvarez kept the good vibes going during Friday's 15-2 rout of the Blue Jays with a 3-for-4, three-RBI night that featured his third homer of the season. The Astros were far ahead at the time, but it was such a titanic blast that it brought the house down at Minute Maid Park:

Yes, Alvarez hit the train tracks -- on an opposite-field drive, no less. The distance was estimated at 425 feet, and it looked even more majestic than the measurement suggested.

Just ask this young Astros fan, who was as blown away as the rest of us by Alvarez's pure power:

That's what I'm talking about. That's the kind of pure, stunned amazement that gargantuan homers can cause.

I can barely believe it either, kid. What in the world is Alvarez going to do for an encore of this first week in the Majors? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out.
