Yasiel Puig staged his own mini-Derby with some truly dramatic homers in Miami

The T-Mobile Home Run Derby took place earlier this week at Marlins Park in Miami. You may have tuned in and enjoyed the dingers. If you did, you saw a bunch of baseballs fly out of the stadium, most of them off the bat of the unbelievable Aaron Judge.
Yasiel Puig didn't participate in the Derby, but the Dodgers' entertaining right fielder might as well have given the power show he put on in Los Angeles' 6-4 win over the Marlins on Friday night.
The first was a booming Statcast-estimated 449-foot blast off a Dan Straily offspeed pitch in the fifth inning. He got all of that one:
As for Puig's second homer of the night, well, the context couldn't have been more dramatic. With Miami holding a 4-3 lead, the Dodgers were down to their last out when Joc Pederson hit a two-strike single to keep the game going. After Yasmani Grandal worked a walk (also with two strikes), Puig stepped up against A.J. Ramos.
Because that was the trend of the evening, Puig found himself with two strikes before, well, hitting one off the sculpture in left-center:

That Puig, always with a flair for the dramatic ... and in Miami, too, where he's now developed something of a reputation for the unbelievable.
