The White Sox arrived to their home opener in the backs of Mustang convertibles
You might not remember who was part of the homecoming court for your high school class, but you probably have a good mental image of the scene: The most popular kids being driven (excruciatingly slowly) around your school's football field while sitting in the back of some convertibles.
Some things never change. For Friday's home opener against the Mariners, the White Sox entered the field the same way the eventual prom king and queen did at the start of their senior years. That's right, they each got a Mustang convertible and took a ride out to the dugout for their first home introduction of the season:
It turns out that this is something of a tradition for the White Sox. When the weather is nasty, it looks like it can be a pretty big drag for the opposing team, which has to stand there for the entire procession.
But it's even better than what you did in high school: Instead of a lame chaperoned dance, they get to celebrate with a baseball game!
