Yolmer Sanchez made a heads-up play to catch Dustin Fowler off base after a slide

No play in baseball is over until the umpire says it is. Thanks to a smart move by Yolmer Sánchez, rookie Dustin Fowler learned this lesson the hard way during the A's 7-6 win over the White Sox on Saturday.
In the top of the third, Fowler smacked a one-out single off Dylan Covey to reach base. Marcus Semien followed by grounding a ball toward Yoán Moncada, but the second baseman's throw deflected off Tim Anderson's glove and Semien was safe, upending Anderson in the process:

It looked like it would quickly become a scoring opportunity for the A's, but there was just one problem -- Fowler didn't realize that the ball had bounced away.
Thinking that he was out on the force play, Fowler began to walk back toward the A's dugout. That's when Sanchez ran over from his position near third, picked up the ball, and tagged the unsuspecting Fowler:

Instead of a rally, the inning ended almost immediately afterward, when Jed Lowrie went down swinging.
Credit Sanchez with the heads-up play and credit Fowler for surely being glad that the A's managed to eke out the win despite his miscue.
