The Royals had every reason to be exuberant on Friday. They came from behind in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Blue Jays, 5-4, in a 2015 ALCS rematch, securing their 10th win in their last 12 games.
The hero of the night was Whit Merrifield, who smashed a double for the first walk-off hit of his young career. The team celebrated so much that Merrifield accidentally got bumped down by Salvador Perez and his fellow teammates.
Whoops!
All was well in the end, though, and he was able to enjoy a customary splash during his postgame interview anyway.
