The Orioles continued their winning ways on Wednesday afternoon with an 8-7 comeback win over the Mariners, keeping them in the thick of the AL Wild Card race. One of the keys to their offense of late has been catcher Welington Castillo, who has hit .379 with six homers in his past 16 games, and he's been even hotter during their seven-game winning streak.
Castillo kept up the top-notch work on Wednesday by tying a career high with four hits on the day, including his 16th homer of the season:
It's been customary throughout the season for the Orioles (Adam Jones, in particular) to pie one of their standout players of every win during the subsequent on-field interview, so Castillo had to suspect that it might be coming.
What he might not have expected, though, is that his very own son, also named Welington, would do the honors:
Rough! We haven't seen this kind of father-son betrayal since the Boltons.
Fortunately, that's still a pair of happy Welington Castillos, and since some of the pie fell, they got to share it, too.
