Have you ever found yourself watching baseball and been struck with a curious thought: What does a baseball taste like?
Chances are, you have not had this thought while watching a game, but in case you have ... you might want to ask Phillies right-hander Vince Velasquez for his thoughts, because he might have an idea. I mean, he did take a bite out of the ball after a squibber down the third-base line resulted in an infield single in Wednesday night's 2-0 loss to the D-backs:
Yep, That's definitely a bitten baseball, stemming from frustration that such a weakly-hit grounder yielded a base hit. It happens.
It won't happen to this particular baseball anymore, however. Vince made sure of that.
