Francisco Lindor got a cake for his birthday and watched helplessly as it tumbled to the ground

Yesterday, Indians shortstop and gloriously ebullient human being Francisco Lindor turned 23 years old. Fortunately for him, a November birthday falls in the offseason -- a fact that should keep him safe from the day being ruined by bobbles.
"Should" being the operative word because, well, just watch:

The first rule of cake holding -- dare I say the only rule of cake holding -- is don't drop the cake. All it takes is one momentary lapse of concentration to fail at this most basic task and, in this case, the protagonist in our story experienced such a concentration lapse. When he gave in to the perfectly understandable impulse to give Francisco a hug, disaster struck.
The cake tumbled to the ground but, miraculously, crisis was averted as the cake fell right-side up. And, if the hashtag is to be believed, #TheyStillAteIt.
