Mike Trout's 30th home run of the season was hit so high it hit off the catwalk at Tropicana Field

Mike Trout hit his 30th home run of the season during the Rays' 10-6 win over the Angels on Tuesday night -- shocker, right? We aren't surprised over this piece of information, but the execution of said home run was interesting to say the least. 
During the top of the seventh inning on a 2-1 pitch, Trout smacked the dinger to deep center field and it ended up hitting the Trop rings (probably C or D rings which would deem it a homer):

Kevin Kiermaier watched as the ball flew up, and in an instant, he knew it was gone -- well as gone as a home run can be at the Trop. Trout wasn't sure if it was deemed a homer or not -- at least that's how it appeared while he was in a near-sprint around second base. This makes sense though, he's pretty sure this is the first time he's ever hit one of the catwalks before.
"It was kind of cool," Trout told MLB.com's Maria Guardado. "Before the game, we were talking about it, what happens if you hit one of them. Couldn't remember which one [third-base coach] Dino [Ebel] was talking about, if you hit it and it comes down, it's in play. As soon as I saw Kiermaier go back, and then I saw him chasing after it, I thought, 'I just got to keep running.' I was just running to make sure."
It may not have gone as far as we would have wanted, but it still counts.
