What do starting pitchers do to break the monotony of the four days or so between games? Blue Jays right-hander Trent Thornton thought up a genius way to spend his time in the dugout during Toronto's 8-6 win over the Orioles on Wednesday.
Rather than just sit there staring blankly, like so many baseball dudes do when they're not going to partake in the game on a given day or night, Thornton strapped on some catching gear and worked on some fielding drills.
And by that, I mean he showed some great blocking skills on a foul ball that rolled its way toward the dugout.
Nothing's getting past him.
