Travis Wood replaced Kyle Hendricks in NLDS Game 2 and coolly hit a solo home run

When you've had the type of season the Cubs have had, these sorts of things happen.
In Game 2 of the Division Series against the Giants, a 5-2 win by the Cubs that gave them a 2-0 series lead, starter and NL ERA leader Kyle Hendricks left early after sustaining a forearm contusion on a comebacker -- but not without ripping a two-run single for his first career postseason hit: 

After Hendricks departed, manager Joe Maddon turned to versatile pitcher/outfielder Travis Wood for some spot relief work. Naturally, he clubbed a solo homer to the left-field bleachers in his first at-bat (as seen in full atop this post) -- earning himself a curtain call in the process:

Wood entered the game with nine career home runs as a hitter, so his big offensive moment here shouldn't come as that much of a surprise -- but then again, it is the postseason. And then again again, he hit a homer as a pinch-hitter back in Spring Training so we already know he can come off the bench and get things done.
It was also the first postseason homer by a pitcher since Joe Blanton's blast in Game 4 of the 2008 World Series for the Phillies:

AND the first postseason homer by a relief pitcher since the New York Giants' Rosy Ryan in 1924. 
They say the postseason is unpredictable, and they're definitely right.
