Tommy Pham hit an absolute moonshot to the top of PNC Park's left-field rotunda

The Cardinals and Pirates endured an hour-long rain delay in the middle of their game on Thursday night. When they returned, though, Tommy Pham made it a memorable contest with one of the most jaw-dropping home runs in PNC Park history.
Leading off the top of the ninth with his club already leading, 8-5, Pham added a key insurance run by squaring up a Wade LeBlanc pitch that ended up right in his wheelhouse. He connected, and the ball nearly vanished in the night sky:

It may have scraped some planes for all we know. "That was a monster shot," said manager Mike Matheny to MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch. "I don't think I've ever seen a ball go up there. That's a long ways."
When the tape-measure shot finally came to rest, it had curled around the left-field foul pole and landed on the top of the PNC Park concourse. Statcast recorded the distance at 440 feet away (though Dexter Fowler cracked that his "Dex-cast" indicated 465-470).
At 111.4 mph, Pham's roundtripper was the hardest-hit homer by a Cardinals player in 2017. Their broadcasters couldn't even recall the great Albert Pujols hitting a ball to the concourse in its 17-year history. The Pirates' Jordy Mercer and Josh Bell told Fowler and Pham that they'd never seen one land there, either.
The Cardinals went on to win, 11-7, and Pham's blast definitely wowed his teammates.
