Paul Goldschmidt helped the D-backs score a run by simply standing his ground

The D-backs jumped out to a 4-0 lead after five innings against the Reds on Friday night, and backed by the strength of Paul Goldschmidt's 20th homer of the season, they won, 6-3. The solo shot was Goldschmidt's only RBI of the night, but he had an assist on another run.
In the bottom of the seventh, Blake Wood faced Goldschmidt with David Peralta taking his lead off second base. Seeing an opening, Peralta dashed for third, and Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart fired a throw in that direction.
The only problem? Goldschmidt's bat was in the way:
Barnhart's throw caromed off Goldschmidt's bat, allowing Peralta to not only steal third, but come home on the error with the D-backs' sixth run.
It was a smart baseball play -- Goldschmidt was well within his rights to stay exactly in his spot in the batter's box and was not obligated to move to clear Barnhart's path. So, somewhat like Evan Gattisearlier this year, he pulled the ol' Shin-Soo Choo play from the 2015 ALDS.
The run wasn't an RBI for Goldschmidt, but it was literally a run batted in.
