There are loyal fans, and then there's George.
A lifelong Red Sox fan who currently lives Nashville, Tenn., George and his wife made the trip to Boston for Game 1 of the World Series. But this wasn't just any journey from out of town to catch a postseason game at Fenway Park -- it's been about seven decades since George last set foot in the Boston ballpark for a Sox game.
George can still vividly remember riding in a family friend's milk truck into Boston for his first game at Fenway. But those games George attended in the 1940s would be the last ones he would get to attend for a very long time. Life got in the way, and he never made it back to see a Sox home game for decades.
Fast forward to 2018 and here he is, at the World Series at Fenway Park. His favorite player Dustin Pedroia, may be on the DL, but he still can't wait to cheer on his beloved Red Sox as they chase a championship. Check out the video at the top of the page to hear more from the longtime Sox fan.
