Watch the Indians give Cleveland fans a standing ovation after their 22-game win streak ended

The Indians gave us a historical run to witness this season with 22 consecutive wins before it came to an end on Friday night when the team fell to the Royals, 4-3. But not without a bit of drama.
The 22^nd win against the Royals on Thursday seemed like it wouldn't even take place. With the Indians trailing, 2-1, in the bottom of the ninth inning, Francisco Lindor did Lindor-type things, smacking a double into left field to tie the game. Jay Bruce's walk-off double sent the team into history in the 3-2 win. They are now second behind the 1916 New York Giants, who had a 26-game winning streak.

Lindor again came to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, but this time he struck out swinging, giving Mike Minor his first career save and the game was over. The Windians' streak came to an end in front of a sellout home crowd and the team thanked the fans who came out Friday to support them. Manager Terry Francona led the team out and gave the crowd a hat tip. The smiles were infectious:

This was the first loss for the Indians since Aug. 23, but it was the last thing on anyone's mind as the team applauded for its fans.
