Checking in with the 2017 Dodgers and how they rank against the best teams in MLB history

The Dodgers were the first team this season to hit 70 wins, and they finished July with a 74-31 record. (That just so happens to be the best in MLB.) They've won 8 games in a row, and they're all but certain to win the NL West. But how do they compare to the best teams in history? Click the graphic to enlarge it.
Dodge
Record: 116-36 (152 games)
Winning percentage: .763
What the Dodgers need to do: If the Dodgers want to hit 116 wins this year, they'll have to go 42-15 for the rest of the season. Since this year's Dodgers are playing 162 games, they can't make it to exactly .736. They'll need to aim for .765, which would mean a truly incredible 124-38 regular-season record. To pull that off, they'd need to go 50-7 for the rest of the season.
Just a heads up -- no team has ever won more than 116 games.
Record: 116-46
Winning percentage: .716
What the Dodgers need to do: Match the '01 Mariners' record exactly. That means they're only allowed 15 more losses in 57 games.
Record: 114-48
Winning percentage: .704
What the Dodgers need to do: To win 114 this year, the Dodgers will have to go 40-17 for the rest of the season.
Record: 111-43 (154 games)
Winning percentage: .721
What the Dodgers need to do: To win as many games as the '54 Indians, L.A. will have to go 37-20 for the rest of the season. To exceed their .721 wining percentage, the Dodgers will have to go 43-14 for a .722 mark.
Record: 110-42 (152 games)
Winning percentage: .724
What the Dodgers need to do: To hit 110 wins on the season, the Dodgers will need to go 36-21 for the rest of the year. But they would need a .728 winning percentage to top the '09 Pirates mark, which means finishing 44-13.
Record: 110-44 (154 games)
Winning percentage: .714
What the Dodgers need to do: Like the 1909 Pirates, the '27 Yankees won 110 games. But the closest the Dodgers can get to the '27 Yankees' winning percentage in a 162-game season is a 116-46 season like the 2001 Mariners. As you can see above, that means they'd have to go 42-15 for the rest of the season.
