Steph Curry spent the Warriors' warmup practicing his pitching mechanics again
The Golden State Warriors lost their third game of the season on Thursday night, a double-overtime loss to the Houston Rockets. While I'm not going to pretend to be a basketball expert, it may have had something to do with the fact that Steph Curry, the reigning NBA MVP, seemed to think he was playing baseball again:
Interesting pitch choice for a 3-1 count, Steph.
OK, memes aside, Curry has clearly spent some time working on his pitching mechanics -- that's a much smoother delivery than the one we saw back in April. If he ever wants go from unanimous MVP to Minor League pitcher, the cross-sport transition is definitely an option.
Plus, he's got pitching in his genes: His father Dell pitched three innings for the Class A Gastonia Rangers in 1991 -- backed up by second baseman Muggsy Bogues -- and struck out more batters (four) than hits allowed (three). Dell already taught Steph how to excel in one sport -- we're sure he could teach him another.
