A lot can happen in three years. Back in 2014, the Astros were presumed to be at least a few years away from reaching their potential -- so it surprised a lot of people when Sports Illustrated printed this cover:
It was a rather specific suggestion, too, that Houston's rebuilding process would coalesce exactly three years later.

On Wednesday night, the Astros beat the Dodgers, 5-1, to win their very first World Series. The prediction was true, and using a photo of George Springer proved to be perhaps the most prescient part of the whole thing, considering he was named the World Series MVP after mashing homers in five of the seven games.
