16 years after their last meeting, Shin-Soo Choo and Seung Hwan Oh faced off again

Sixteen years ago, when Shin-Soo Choo and Seung Hwan Oh were both stars for their Korean high school teams, the pair faced off in a championship tournament. Things were a little different back then, though. Long before he was the outfielder we know and love today, Choo was his team's ace pitcher with a fastball that reportedly could touch 96 mph. Meanwhile, because of an arm injury, Oh had to shift to the outfield.
When the two faced off that day, Choo dominated. Not only did Choo not allow Oh on base, but his team would go on to win the tournament.
When the Rangers beat the Cardinals, 4-3, on Saturday, their paths converged again, despite the different directions they took to get there -- Choo signing with the Mariners and Oh pitching for the Samsung Lions in the KBO and Hanshin Tigers in Japan before joining the Cardinals this offseason.
The end result: Choo won again. After Oh got ahead in the count 0-2, Choo laced a single back up the middle.
He would then come around to score the Rangers' first run of the game on Oh's wild pitch, before drawing the game-tying bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning once Oh was out of the game.
The more things change ... I guess.
