Sean Newcomb will make his 17th start of the year on Tuesday night, as the Braves take on the Yankees in the Bronx. It's been an exceptional sophomore campaign for the 25-year-old southpaw, who has been one half of the surprising dominant duo in Atlanta's rotation alongside Mike Foltynewicz, and could be one of the many Braves representatives at the All-Star Game in Washington later this month.
Ahead of his big start against the Yankees, we asked Newcomb about growing up in New England, getting traded as a Minor Leaguer and being one of only three Major Leaguers ever to come out of the University of Hartford (where one of the other two is Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell). In addition, we asked Newcomb about his phone habits, the apps he can't live without and the coolest contact in his phone.
