A low-key important characteristic for a successful first baseman is to possess strong social skills. OK, so this isn't necessarily important for the resume, but it's certainly a bonus. And you're surely curious as to what he and the runner on first are talking about right? During the Cubs-Reds game on Saturday, we were able to witness just how fun those skills can turn out to be.
Scooter Gennett hit a single to center in the bottom of the 1st -- that meant he got to hang out with Anthony Rizzo for a few. The two shared a really fun and playful moment:
It appeared Rizzo was attempting to pull a hidden-ball trick on Gennett, but this isn't his first rodeo. Maybe next time.
