Some foul balls are easier to catch than others. They'll often be simple popups that give fans plenty of time to try to prepare themselves to emerge from the scrum with the ball. In a less crowded stadium, there might be some running involved to track it down.
Jorge Polanco's foul during the Twins' 6-4 victory over the Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Friday was not as forgiving. With none out in the top of the third inning, the shortstop hit an absolute missile into foul territory.
One Royals fan was quick to react, though. He sacrificed the cleanliness of his popcorn bucket to make a terrific catch, earning some praise from the people around him.
This fan was not only ingenious, but also generous, as he was willing to share his souvenir with the people around him. He got the real prize though -- not completely losing his popcorn!
Others in the past haven't been so lucky. So good work by this Royals fan, who came away with both a foul ball and a mostly full bucket of popcorn! He's a true "pop star," getting the best of both worlds.
