The Royals congratulated the Cubs on their World Series victory by buying them pizza

It is one of baseball's newest -- and grandest -- traditions. Just like in presidential elections, when the loser calls to congratulate the winner, the previous year's World Series champion buys the new champ pizza. It was reportedly started by the Red Sox, who purchased the Giants pizza after the 2014 Fall Classic, and the Royals are now the latest to continue it.
With the Cubs front office likely hard at work both preparing for Friday's parade and mopping up champagne stains outside of Wrigley Field, Kansas City provided sustenance in the form of fine looking pies:

What would happen if a team repeated as victors? Would the club have to fund its own pizza party? Would the previous pizza sendee have to send another round of pies? These are the uncomfortable questions that must be asked.
