The Rockies welcomed back Adam Ottavino after a year-long absence with pats on the back

It's easy to forget that the baseball players that we idolize, cheer and sometimes even boo are actual human beings with thoughts and feelings. The Rockies reminded us of that during their 7-3 victory over the Giants on Tuesday.
In the bottom of the eighth, the team called on Adam Ottavino to make his first appearance since April 25, 2015, when he was put on the disabled list in need of Tommy John surgery.
When manager Walt Weiss came out to get the right-hander after retiring one batter, Ottavino's teammates gathered around the mound to congratulate him and welcome him back to the Major League fold.

Whether there was cake and ice cream in the clubhouse, too, we can't say.
