Who among us has not walked face-first into a plate glass door? Or has tried to reach through a sparkling clean window for something (like a pie, perhaps?) on the other side? Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos had the baseball-version of this event befall him during Saturday's game against the Yankees.
When Ronald Torreyes hit a popup behind the plate in the bottom of the second, Chirinos went to make the play. He sized up the ball, got his glove ready and was shocked to find that the ball had not landed in the mitt.
Hey, at least he didn't bash his nose into a door.
