Nestled beyond the wall in right-center at Tropicana Field is a tank of rays. Because the Rays play there, get it? It's a fun attraction for fans in the same vein as the fish at Marlins Park.
OK, now that we're on the same page, something happened in the Rays' 2-1 win over the Twins on Tuesday night that doesn't happen very often. In the ninth, Twins outfielder Robbie Grossman connected on an Alex Colomé pitch for a booming homer that cleared the wall -- but didn't clear the Rays' Touch Tank, splashing down and causing a bit of a scene in the water:
They may count Splash Hits over on the other side of the country at AT&T Park in San Francisco, but this is at least the second time this has now happened in the past two seasons. And both times were pretty fun.
